Our glass canopies. A venture into the domestic market.
Some time ago we noticed that many properties lacked any form of weather protection for visitors. We wondered why this was and looked at what was available in porches and canopies and found that if you wanted style then there was very little available. Mock Rustic, Mock Georgian perhaps but nothing for those who care about design.
Hence the Arc 1 Glass Canopy
Arc 1 is our first canopy and designed to suit the normal range of domestic doorways from 700 to 900mm in width. We have made as generous as we dare being 700mm in depth and 1230 mm in width. This width allows for these units to be fitted in pairs on the adjacent doorways of terraced housing. The triple strut design is supported by 3 tierods, each with marine rigging screws tensioned from a single central support ring. This design allows for the simplest possible installation, is pleasing to the eye and water shedding is away to both sides. Materials of construction are clear glass 8mm thick, toughened for safety reasons, and stainless steel. There are no plated or painted finishes to flake off or wear away. There are no plastic parts to get scratched. Kept clean when the window cleaner calls these canopies can look brand new 10 years down the line.
What next? Arc 2 Canopy and Flow 1 Regency Style Canopy.
The Arc 2 Canopy will be a larger version of Arc 1 suitable for the larger doorway. Perhaps 1500mm wide by 800mm deep. Flow 1 will mimic the regency style canopy in glass and stainless steel.
