Canopies in Glass and Stainless Steel

Installing your Glass Canopy:

Installing your glass canopy is straightforward.

Our glass canopies come with all parts and wall fixings but the following tools are required.

    Tools required

  • Tape measure
  • Hammer drill and 10mm and 20mm diameter masonry bits
  • 1000mm long spirit level or shorter level and straight edge
  • Allen key (5 mm)
  • 10mm and 17mm open ended spanners.
  • 4 mm centre punch (A 4 inch nail will do)
  • A willing helper to support the glass canopy during installation

    Procedure

    Full and detailed instructions are enclosed with the canopy but the major steps are as follows:

  • Drill 4 holes above the door and fit the supplied fixings.
  • Screw the struts and glass support pillars to the fixings.
  • Use the supplied rope to support the central strut.
  • Fit the screws, washers and spacers to the canopy glass.
  • Lift the canopy glass into position.
  • Screw the canopy glass to the pillars. Rubber covered gloves or vacuum glass lifting handles are recommended for this task.
  • Fit and tension the tie-rods to take the weight of the canopy glass.
  • Adjust the rigging screws so that the canopy glass is level across its width and sloping slightly downwards away from the wall.
  • Stand back and admire your new glass canopy.
